I haven’t been fishing in over a week ... and it is killing me.
BUT it’s for the good! Matt and I are getting ready for a big move next month. Best of all, we are moving somewhere I can fish every morning and every night! A little sacrifice now for a big return later 🎉. What started as a tough Friday turned into a spect

What started as a tough Friday turned into a spectacular weekend. Got out Friday around 5 AM (which we found out was completely unnecessary) in some very chilly weather and had a much tougher than expected day of fishing. Biggest walleye was 22” with one trophy pike in the mix. Pitched jigs in 15 feet or less all day with not much success. The next day 2 days we worked our way deeper. Fished in 30 to 34 feet, dragging flasher jigs and dead shiners in the mud. We picked up 6 over 25 in our boat with countless smaller fish. The big girls were roaming the bottom and had noticeable mud on the bellies. My brothers boat also caught a sturgeon over 50, with a 40 and smaller in the mix… while our friends landed a couple more nice fish including a 29” tank walleye - again out deep. Ended up being a great trip. We stayed at the Walleye Inn, which is the in town branch of River Bends. If you are looking for a trip this weekend - I highly recommend either place! What an AMAZING weekend. So much fun on Rainy River and hanging with Roger from Polar Kraft. We had a rough Friday but sure finished the weekend strong. This fishery never fails to amaze me! Thanks to @riverbendsresorts for hosting me. More photos and info to come.

Not the 30” walleye I was going for but I won’t complain! She does look stressed in the fins but I didn’t have her out long. She swam away just fine.
